بخت نصر بادشاہ کا عبرت انگیز واقعہ
دنیا کے بادشاہوں کے قصے اکثر طاقت، فتوحات اور شان و شوکت سے بھرے ہوتے ہیں، مگر بخت نصر کی داستان ایسی ہے جو انسان کو جھنجھوڑ کر رکھ دیتی ہے۔ یہ ایک ایسے بادشاہ کی کہانی ہے جو ابتدا میں نیک، صالح اور اللہ کے پیغمبروں کا مطیع تھا، مگر نفسانی خواہش نے اسے بربادی کے گڑھے میں دھکیل دیا۔

نیک بخت بادشاہ کی آزمائش
بخت نصر شروع میں نہایت نیک فطرت بادشاہ تھا۔ وہ حضرت زکریا علیہ السلام اور حضرت یحییٰ علیہ السلام کا فرمانبردار، ان کا قدردان اور ان کے مشوروں پر عمل کرنے والا تھا۔ مگر شیطان نے اس کے دل میں ایک فتنہ ڈال دیا۔ایک دن اس نے ایک عورت سے نکاح کیا، جس کی پہلی شادی سے ایک بیٹی تھی۔ وہ لڑکی حسن و جمال میں بے مثال تھی۔ جب وہ جوانی کی دہلیز پر پہنچی تو بادشاہ اس کے حسن کا دیوانہ ہو گیا۔ وہ لڑکی اس کی سوتیلی بیٹی تھی، مگر ہوس نے اس کے دل و دماغ کو اندھا کر دیا۔
مہرِ گناہ اور شیطانی سازش
بادشاہ نے اپنی بیوی سے کہا کہ وہ اپنی بیٹی سے اس کا نکاح کر دے۔ عورت چونک اٹھی، کیونکہ وہ جانتی تھی کہ ایسا نکاح اللہ کے پیغمبروں کی شریعت کے خلاف ہے، اور بخت نصر پیغمبروں کا فرمانبردار ہے، وہ کبھی اجازت نہ دیں گے۔ مگر عورت بھی آزمائش میں آگئی۔ اس نے کہا:
“اگر تم واقعی یہ نکاح چاہتے ہو تو مہر ادا کرو اور وہ مہر تمہارے دونوں پیغمبروں کا سر ہے!” یہ سن کر بادشاہ لرز گیا۔ اس نے کہا: “یہ کیسے ممکن ہے؟ وہ تو ہمارے خیر خواہ اور دعاگو ہیں!” مگر عورت نے اصرار کیا، اور آخرکار ہوائے نفس نے ایمان کو مغلوب کر دیا۔
پیغمبروں کا قتل
بادشاہ نے اپنی فوج کو حکم دیا کہ دونوں پیغمبروں کو قتل کر دو۔ حضرت یحییٰ علیہ السلام کو بیت المقدس میں شہید کر دیا گیا۔ جب حضرت زکریا علیہ السلام کو خبر ملی تو وہ جنگل کی طرف بھاگ نکلے۔ وہ ایک درخت کے پاس پہنچے اور دعا کی: “اے اللہ! مجھے پناہ دے!” اللہ کے حکم سے درخت پھٹ گیا اور وہ اس کے اندر سما گئے، مگر ان کا ایک ٹکڑا باہر رہ گیا۔ سپاہیوں نے درخت دیکھا، حیران ہوئے، اور شیطان نے ان کی رہنمائی کی: “یہ زکریا اسی درخت کے اندر ہیں!” انہوں نے درخت پر آرا چلا دیا۔ جب آرا حضرت زکریا کے سر تک پہنچی تو انہوں نے ایک سسکی لی۔
تب اللہ کا حکم نازل ہوا:
“اے زکریا! اگر تم نے ایک اور آواز نکالی تو ہم تمہیں نبوت سے محروم کر دیں گے۔ تم نے ہم سے مدد مانگنے کے بجائے درخت سے پناہ کیوں طلب کی؟” اور یوں وہ خاموشی کے ساتھ آرے کے نیچے شہید ہو گئے۔
سرنگ والا سپاہی: گمنامی میں قربانی کی عظمت یہاں پڑھئے
عذابِ الٰہی
جب دونوں پیغمبروں کا خون بہا، تو زمین کانپ اٹھی، آسمان پر اندھیرا چھا گیا، اور اللہ کا غضب نازل ہوا۔ ایک طاقتور لشکر شہر پر چڑھ دوڑا، ہر جانب تباہی مچ گئی۔ حضرت یحییٰ علیہ السلام کا خون قبر میں بھی نہ رُکتا تھا۔ بادشاہ نے حکم دیا کہ جب تک خون بند نہ ہو، قتل جاری رکھو۔ ہزاروں بے گناہ لوگ مارے گئے، مگر خون بند نہ ہوا۔
آخر ایک بزرگ قبر پر آئے اور کہا:
“اے نبیِ خدا! کیا ایک خون کے بدلے میں سارا شہر تباہ ہو جائے گا؟” یہ کہنا تھا کہ خون بند ہو گیا۔ آج بھی جامع دمشق میں حضرت یحییٰ علیہ السلام کی قبر موجود ہے، جو ایمان والوں کے لیے نشانِ عبرت ہے۔

حاصلِ سبق
اس واقعہ سے ہمیں یہ سبق ملتا ہے کہ: بجز اللہ کے کسی سے مدد نہیں مانگنی چاہیے۔ جب ایک نبی نے درخت سے پناہ مانگی تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں تنبیہ فرمائی تو ہم کون ہیں جو دوسروں سے آس لگائیں؟
اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیں نفس کے دھوکے سے بچائے، ظلم سے نفرت اور صبر و اطاعت کی راہ دکھائے، اور ہمیں ہمیشہ اپنے سوا کسی پر بھروسہ نہ کرنے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے۔

The Righteous King’s Trial
In the beginning, Nebuchadnezzar was a pious and noble king.
He deeply respected Prophets Zakariya (Zechariah) and Yahya (John the Baptist), and followed their guidance with humility. But one day, temptation crept into his heart a whisper from Satan that would destroy his soul. He married a woman who had a daughter from her first husband, a young maiden of extraordinary beauty. As she reached adulthood, her beauty dazzled the eyes of all and the king fell helplessly in love with her.

The Price of Sin
The king expressed his desire to marry the girl, but the mother was shocked. She knew this marriage was forbidden by the Law of God, and that the Prophets would never allow such sin.
So, with cunning in her heart, she said:
“If you truly want her, pay the dowry her mahr is the heads of both Prophets Zakariya and Yahya.”
The king trembled.
“How can I harm them?” he said. “They are my guides and well-wishers!” But the woman insisted and the whisper of lust overcame faith.
Blinded by desire, the king ordered the execution of both holy men.
The Martyrdom of the Prophets
Prophet Yahya (A.S.) was beheaded in Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). When Prophet Zakariya (A.S.) learned of it, he fled into the wilderness, seeking safety.
There, he came upon a tree and prayed:
“O Allah! Grant me refuge!”
By divine command, the tree split open, and he hid inside. But a small part of his cloak remained visible. When the soldiers arrived, they were confused until Satan appeared and said:
“He is inside this tree!”
Then, an axe was brought, and the tree was sawed from top to bottom. When the blade reached Prophet Zakariya’s head, he sighed in pain. Immediately, Allah revealed to him:
“O Zakariya! If you utter another sound, you will lose your Prophethood.
Why did you seek refuge in the tree and not in Me? Taste the consequence, and remain silent.” And thus, the noble Prophet was martyred in silence beneath the saw.

The Wrath of Allah
After both Prophets were slain, the wrath of Allah descended upon the city. The skies turned dark, the earth trembled, and a mighty army invaded the land. Blood flowed like rivers, and the people were destroyed. Even after Prophet Yahya (A.S.) was buried, his blessed blood would not stop flowing.
The king ordered:
“Keep killing until the blood ceases!”
Thousands were slain, yet the blood did not stopuntil a pious man came to the grave and said:
“O Prophet of Allah, will you cause the destruction of an entire city for one blood?”
At those words, the blood suddenly ceased to flow. To this day, the tomb of Prophet Yahya (A.S.) stands in the Great Mosque of Damascus, reminding believers of the consequence of sin and disobedience.

Moral of the Story
The lesson is clear and eternal:
Never seek help from anyone except Allah. Even a Prophet who sought refuge in a tree was reminded that protection lies only with God so what about us, weak and sinful as we are?
May Allah protect us from the whispers of desire, keep our hearts steadfast on truth, and grant us the strength to rely only on Him, and none besides Him.
